How to get In-Camera Fuji Velvia look

Fuji Velvia is one of the most famous films used in landscape photography, loved by many photographers such as Rodney Lough Jr., John Shaw, Steve Parish, Peter Lik, and the late Galen Rowell. Velvia features saturated colors under daylight, high contrast and exceptional sharpness.


In this photography tip of the week we show you how to adjust your digital camera (Pentax K200D in our case) image settings to try and emulate the look and feel of Fuji Velvia.





Go to image settings, select standard settings and:
  1. increase contrast 2 points
  2. increase sharpness by 1 point, and 
  3. increase saturation by 2 points
In case you do not use Pentax digital camera, consider increasing sharpness by 2 points instead of 1, as Pentax K200D pushes sharpness by default 1 point when compared to other digital cameras.
