Joe McNally brings an interesting book full of tips, while using the same concept as his lectures. This book will help you to start asking yourself the right questions and therefore help you to explore new angles. Not for beginners though.


The Moment It Clicks - a book with an interesting title. One would think that it refers to the moment when a shutter button of the camera is depressed. Although this book does provide a lot of technical information, the main theme refers to the A-ha moment. "The moment it clicks" actually refers to the moment it "clicks" in our head, focusing primarily on the mindset of the photographer, and questions you should ask yourselves when you are in the field and taking pictures.

This almost autobiographical book uses a rather unique concept when getting its point across. Each tip consists of one brief sentence catchphrase, a photo example illustrating the point, and a discussion and or background story related to the photo. It assumes that the reader is accustomed to some basic photography principles and terms and is not recommended to beginners. However, if you want to challenge your photography skills to a new level, and ask the right questions on how to improve, this is definitely a book for you.
